The Rotatable Display Stand is a versatile and practical tool for showcasing various items like miniatures and dioramas. Its features, such as the matte surface and rotational capabilities, make it an appealing choice for hobbyists, collectors, and photographers who want to capture the intricate details of their creations. The ability to power the rotation through batteries or a USB cable adds convenience and flexibility for different usage scenarios. It is useful for scale modeling and taking pictures of miniatures for several reasons:
360-Degree Viewing: Scale models and miniatures often have intricate details that enthusiasts and hobbyists want to showcase. The rotating display stand allows for a full 360-degree view of the item. This is especially beneficial when you want to capture every angle and detail, as it eliminates the need to handle the item manually, reducing the risk of damage.
Consistent Lighting: When taking photographs, consistent lighting is crucial to capture the item's details accurately. This 360 rotating display stand ensures that the miniature is evenly lit from all angles, reducing shadows and enhancing the visibility of details. This is particularly important for macro photography.
Steady Shots: Maintaining a steady hand for extended periods while taking photos can be challenging, leading to shaky shots. This will eliminate this issue by providing a smooth, controlled rotation, resulting in crisp and clear images.
Flexibility in Composition: The ability to control the rotation speed and direction of this product offers flexibility in composition. You can choose the rotation speed that best suits your photography needs, whether it's a slow and controlled rotation to capture specific details or a faster spin for a dynamic shot.
Hands-Free Operation: Its hands-free operation system allows photographers to focus on framing and capturing the perfect shot without the need for an extra pair of hands. This is especially useful when you're the sole photographer and need to manage the camera settings as well.
Consistency in Presentation: When showcasing a collection of miniatures or scale models, this display turntable ensures a consistent and professional presentation. All items can be displayed uniformly, making your collection look organized and appealing.
Time Efficiency: Using this type of tool can save time during the photography process. You can quickly rotate the item to the desired angle without constantly repositioning it, making your photography session more efficient.
Enhanced Product Videos: If you're creating videos to showcase your miniatures or models, the rotating stand can add dynamic movement to your content, making it more engaging for viewers.
Best value 360 rotating display stand for photography?
There are two types of revolving stand: electric and manual. When looking for an electric swivel base, you should pay attention to its functionalities. It is very useful to have both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, as well as several rotation speeds. This way you will be able to exhibit or photograph your figures as you like and as is most comfortable for you. The ASA option for setting at a specific angle is important if you intend to use it continuously. In addition, USB charging eliminates the need to always have batteries on hand and won't leave you with a half-finished project. All these features, along with those of the previous section, make the Green Stuff World turntable display the best one, which has a very economical price. Also, if you are looking for a 360-degree banding rotary wheel without a motor, you can find it on the web, with one of the most durable rotation systems.
How to take 360-degree images of a miniature?
360-degree photography is a technique that consists of taking several photos of the exterior of a miniature or any other object, which will be placed in video or similar format to give rotating movement to the miniature. The objective is to show in detail the whole figure, giving it a dimensionality effect.A rotatable display stand is very useful for making a 360º photo because it allows one to move the miniature without losing the framing of the image. This is the easiest way to get a good result.
The process is not difficult when you have the necessary tools. Normally, you use an electric rotating base, a white background or a color that highlights the diorama, a camera or a cell phone, a tripod or a place to support the camera, good lighting, and a basic program to edit videos. The steps are as follows:
If available, place your photography backdrop together with the corresponding illumination.
Place the rotatable display stand in front of the background and the miniature to be photographed on top and perfectly centered.
Place the cell phone or camera on the tripod or a stable base. You should not move it until you have finished all the photographs.
Activate the automatic photography mode to take a continuous sequence of photos. The movement of the electric swivel base will keep the piece in its center.
Check to see if the pictures are in focus, readjust, and repeat the process until it is correct. You can try moving the camera closer or further away from the object. Keep in mind that the ideal is to take between 24 and 36 images.
Load all the pictures into a video editor, adjusting the timing of each one until you get the object to rotate naturally.
If you don't want the turntable display to appear in the video, you can remove the background from the images before mounting. It is highly recommended to use them together with our light boxes, this way you can have perfect illumination from all angles.
